Why Anna is excited about "A Generous December"

Ephesians 3:20-21,20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

This is a verse that I have seen to be so true in the life of Mercy Hill Church! Planting a church is something that can’t be done apart from the Lord going before us, preparing, and providing each step of the way. Right now we are seeing His grace all over our church and our story. 35 folks originally moved to plant their lives in GSO and now we are part of a  growing congregation, seeing baptisms, preaching the Gospel each week, have 5 community groups and now we are rallying together to give beyond Greensboro and ourselves. God’s generosity has been all over Mercy Hill every step of the way. Now it is our turn to be generous. As Andrew said recently, “we have been blessed to be a blessing…..We are a conduit of blessing to this community and beyond.”

It is crazy to think of the audacious goal of raising $10,000 over our normal monthly offerings… what is even crazier is to think that all of that is going OUT, EVERY.SINGLE.PENNY! Half of this money is going to support church planters in India. This part is very dear to my heart. The missionaries that we are supporting are some of our dear friends that we met while in seminary. We spent a lot of time with them, truly living life alongside one another. They are living among a people who don’t know Christ. What a joy to be able to come alongside them and bless them that they may be a blessing to the people in their city.

I am excited and praying expectantly at what the Lord is going to do through “A Generous December.” I am excited to take part in blessing others so that they can take the Gospel and reach people in their cities. What a joy to think that we are taking part in the great commission through our giving!
