College Students: What’s Next?

This past weekend we took over 70 students on a retreat to Ridgecrest, NC to connect and talk about the meaning of life…literally. We spent time digging into the book of Ecclesiastes and seeing evaluating what life is all about and if we’re living with purpose. You can access the talks here. Lastly, we challenged the students at the end of the weekend with next steps. How do we live life on purpose and with lasting meaning? It begins here…with these steps. If you’re a college student take a look at the steps you can take and then join the movement of students around the Triad.

  1. Community Group

You can’t do life alone…that’s a fact. That’s why Mercy Hill College desires to connect students to a Community Group during the week. We believe that discipleship happens in community and we want students plugged into a community throughout the week. Community groups are small groups that consist of sermon-guided Bible teaching, community hangout and prayer. We have multiple community groups that meet right near your campus and on different nights of the week. For more information or to get connected to one of these groups e-mail jdager@mercyhillgso.com.

  1. City Project

The City Project is an eight-week discipleship opportunity for college students where students are trained to grow deeper as a disciple of Christ and learn to make disciples who make disciples! This is a chance to spend two months being immersed in the local church and cities around the globe. Each person will travel to New York City for one week to engage Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists with the gospel. The middle of the summer includes several weeks in Greensboro receiving practical theological and ministry training by pastors at Mercy Hill. During this time, students will learn to effectively share the gospel and give their lives away to the city of Greensboro, NC in response to the gospel through internships with local ministries and members of the Mercy Hill Staff. During the last two weeks of the summer, each student will travel abroad to serve in an international context alongside Mercy Hill Church Planters. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the mission of God, develop a heart and mind for God, and better understand what it means to leverage one’s entire life for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
