This Sunday marks exactly two years since Mercy Hill Church launched in 2012. It is fun and faith building to look back. I remember well the nerves that came with launching the new church. What will God do with a small faithful launch team? Who would we meet and reach with the name of Jesus? What would it be like if God opened the flood gates and poured out his blessing upon our church?
Well many of those questions have been initially answered. Over the last two years we have seen amazing things! Well over a hundred people have been baptized, marriages restored, community groups launched, and dozens of people sent overseas both on short and long term mission projects. What started two years ago as a gathering of 30 folks in a home God has now grown to a church meeting in 4 service times with over 30 community groups gathering during the week. God has certainly done more than we could have asked or imagined, but now it is time to ask Him for more.
As the two year mark for Mercy Hill approaches, I am pushed to think about what we have seen in light of what we could see in the future. In short, it is again time to dream about what God could do. What does “immeasurably more than we can think or imagine” look like in the Triad over the next two years? I don’t know what it will be, but I am sure the best is still to come! If you are new to Mercy Hill, or thinking about checking things out, I would encourage you that now is the time. God is moving among us and we are blessed to see His hand here in the land of the living.
