With summer quickly approaching we wanted to let you parents know about some of the exciting things we have going on in our kids ministry over the next month.
1. Parent Commissioning – Sunday, May 18th.
This Sunday we will have our spring parent commissioning. This is a time when parents commit before the church to raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord in hopes that one day they will grow up and love Jesus. And it’s a time where we as the church support the parents and remind them that we are here to love on and encourage them.
If you have a child (or children) under the age of 2 and would like to be involved in our commissioning service – please visit our kids page and register. The commissioning will take place during the 11:00a service and a light lunch will be provided for family and friends after.
2. Mercy Hill Kids Week – June 16th-19th.
This week can’t come soon enough. We had in incredible time last year where over 50 kids showed up to have fun and learn about Jesus. This year we’re expecting more great things. Kids Week will start with a big cookout on Monday night, June 16th followed by three days of Bible lessons, worship, fun games and crafts.
Kids week will be open for children age 2 through grade 4 and will run from 9:00a until 1:00p on June 17th-19th. Registration will open up next week and you will be able to do that from our kids page as well. Mark your calendars…invite your friends…you wont want to miss this week.
Although summer is an exciting time in our kids ministry it’s also a time when many of our volunteers are away. That is why we’re asking parents to volunteer two Sundays during our summer semester (May 18th-August 24th). This will be a huge help and will allow us to continue to grow and see more kids get plugged into our kids ministry. Please e-mail Clayton Holland (email@example.com) to sign up.
God is doing amazing things in the life of our church and specifically in the life of our kids ministry. I am so excited for this summer. Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions or concerns you may have.
