June 26, 2020

On June 25th, Pastor Andrew and Pastor Bobby got together to update everyone on our plans for regathering at Mercy Hill as well as navigating this upcoming season. You can read more about the specific details and considerations below. This page will continually be updated as new developments happen.

John 13:35 tells us that we will be known as disciples of Jesus by how we love one another. In a desire to love you well as we plan to regather, we are committed to making it as safe as possible for you and your family.

We are preparing the space for you by:

  • Limiting our capacity to about 25% so that you have plenty of space to maintain social distancing guidelines.
  • Deep cleaning the facility prior to each worship gathering and continuing to clean it during use.
  • Positioning hand-sanitizing stations throughout the facility for your use.
  • Reducing unnecessary contact surfaces. (There will be no handouts, and we are removing all items from our chair-backs. We are also propping our doors open so you don’t have to touch them, and we will not be passing our offering buckets. Instead, the buckets will be available at the exits for your convenience and safety).
  • Giving you an easy entrance and exit from our buildings by keeping all our doors propped open.
  • Keeping our restrooms clean and available.

We are preparing our teams to safely serve you by:

  • Requiring each of our staff and volunteers to wear face coverings at all times.
  • Screening each of our staff and volunteers by taking their temperatures before they are cleared to serve.
  • Helping our seating teams ensure that each family group has a minimum of six feet of social distancing while still being able to worship with our church family.
  • We are continuing to provide online worship experiences.
  • If you feel uncomfortable regathering at our buildings right now, please continue to worship with us online.
  • If you are especially vulnerable to complications with COVID-19, because we love you, we encourage you to please consider continuing to worship with us online.
  • At the end of the service, the seating team will dismiss everyone by rows (like at a wedding), starting with the back row. This will allow us to maintain social distancing upon dismissal by keeping people from walking past others who are still seated.

As we try to live out John 13:35 together, there are a few ways you can help us all love each other well.

We’re taking measures to help create a safe environment, but no one can guarantee or completely control your safety. To help us love each other well, please consider the following tips:

  • We recommend that you wear a face covering.
  • Refrain from hugging or shaking hands in order to be considerate of others’ physical boundaries.
  • Monitor your own health. In consideration of others, please be sure you do not have any symptoms associated with COVID-19. If you have had symptoms, have had a fever, have tested positive for COVID in the past 14 days, or have had physical contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID outside of a controlled medical environment, we ask that you refrain from attending our in-person gatherings and follow doctors’ recommendations.
  • Consider your risk. If you are part of our vulnerable population such as the elderly and immunocompromised, we strongly encourage you to continue worshipping with us online during this season.

Outdoor Service Phase

Launching July 12, 2020

Outdoor Services are a great first step as we move towards reopening our facilities, and will allow us to gather together for worship in an environment that allows for ample social distancing in an open air setting. It’s a great avenue for those who are comfortable doing so to gather together with others. We realize that not everyone is ready to take this step and will continue to offer online services as well.
  • Online Services will continue Saturdays at 5PM and Sundays at 9AM, 11AM & 5PM. The entire service will continue to be available on-demand starting Saturdays at 5PM each week on Facebook, YouTube, and our website.
  • Kids Ministry Kids Ministry and childcare will not be available for this service, but children may attend the service with their parents.

Sunday, July 12, 2020

We look forward to gathering together with you through our outdoor worship service. Worshipping outdoors is a great way to gather together while also staying safe during this season. So grab your camping chairs, or folding chairs, or even just bring a picnic blanket and come worship with us through our outdoor worship service.

Time: 9:00AM
Location: Regional Campus
Address: 7616 Business Park Dr. Greensboro, NC 27409

Thursday Night Service Phase

During this season of regathering, we want to do everything we can to love each other well. That means that we need to limit the amount of people in our buildings. To help with this, we will be using a registration system that will require the pre-registration of each person — every person in a family group planning to attend. Each person will need to bring their registration form with them so that they can check in and we can seat them in a way that accounts for social distancing. This will help us prepare well and manage the number of people so that we can enjoy worshipping together while maintaining current safety measures.

Registration information for the Thursday service will be available in the coming weeks.

In the coming weeks, Mercy Hill will have an in-person worship service every Thursday at 6:30PM at our Regional Campus. This will enable us to begin meeting back inside our Regional Campus together and prepare us for next steps as we transition to fully regathering.

  • Online Services After Thursday night services begin, we will continue to have Online Services Saturdays at 5PM and Sundays at 9AM, 11AM & 5PM. The entire service will continue to be available on-demand starting 5PM on Saturday each week on Facebook, YouTube, and our website.
  • Kids Ministry Kids Ministry and childcare will not be available for this service, but children may attend with their parents.

Sunday Services Phase

Thursday Night Services will allow us to gauge when and how we can regather at all campuses. At this time, in-person worship services would resume without in-person Kids or Student Ministries. Online gatherings for Worship, Kids and Student Ministries will continue to be available.
  • Online Services will continue Saturdays at 5PM and Sundays at 9AM, 11AM & 5PM. The entire service will continue to be available on-demand on Saturdays at 5PM each week on Facebook, YouTube, and our website.
  • Kids Ministry Kids Ministry and childcare will not be available for this service, but children may attend the service with their parents.

*The number of services and their times are yet to be determined.
