Not in Vain | Day 7
“Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.” – 1 Corinthians 15:12-19
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
If Christ has not been raised, then all our hope collapses. Christianity would be nothing more than wishful thinking. But Jesus has been raised bodily from the grave. The evidence for His resurrection is proof beyond a reasonable doubt. His resurrection is not symbolic, but historical, victorious, and foundational. The resurrection validates Christ’s death for our sins and secures our salvation.
The resurrection also gives purpose to our lives. Our obedience has eternal significance for both us and others. Every act of faithfulness, every quiet sacrifice, every step of obedience matters in God’s kingdom.
So let us respond with perseverance and worship. Let us stand firm in the gospel, not swayed by doubt or hardship. And let us give ourselves fully to the work God has called us to.
Prayer Points
- Pray for family discipleship in the homes of Northeast Campus families. Many children are expressing interest in following Jesus. Pray they would repent of sin and trust Jesus and proclaim their commitment through baptism.
- Pray for 8,500 to attend, 1,700 to serve, and 150 to be baptized across all campuses and services this Easter.
