What is MH Students?

MH Students exists to see students treasure Jesus above all else. There are many things that students can treasure, but only Jesus is worth devoting our lives towards. That is why every Sunday you will find students at Mercy Hill gathering together to CONNECT with other students and students leaders, to GROW in their understanding of the Gospel and its direct application to their lives, and then GO back out to take the good news of Jesus to their neighborhood, their school, or their workplace. If you are in fifth through twelfth grade, we invite you to be a part of this movement.

Grades 5-6

Route 56, the bridge from Mercy Hill Kids to our MH Student ministry, exists to partner with parents in the discipling of their students during these formative years. We meet weekly on Sunday mornings at all of our campuses. Since discipleship begins in the home, we follow the same passage of scripture as the community group guides to provide opportunities for both students and parents to grow together as a family though the week. Students are challenged to see how Bible stories that they’ve learned as kids not only show great character and truth but also apply to their everyday life in a real and personal way.

Grades 7-8

The final two years in middle school are a pivotal time for students to realize how being a follower of Jesus impacts their lives. The abundant life in Jesus comes when we begin to find our identities in Him and not in the status of the world. This ministry meets weekly on Sunday nights to offer students a time to engage with God’s word, worship together, and develop deep friendships. The gathering also provides a fun environment to invite friends to.

Grades 9-12

As students enter their high school years, this marks the final stage of their young adult life. This time period is extremely crucial to their spiritual formation because many of the decisions they make during this time will greatly influence their lives as adults. Because we believe that high school students value depth and authenticity, each Sunday night we gather in small groups to study God’s word and discuss how it applies to our lives. In addition to our weekly gatherings, we gather all of our high school students three times a semester and encourage them to invite their friends to worship together, hear from God’s word, and have a great time!

The organization we are partnering with, Trek-X, has a three-fold strategy with their short-term teams: 1) Train, 2) Immerse, 3) Engage. Each morning, we will begin with a training in a particular religion and how to engage that worldview and belief system effectively with the gospel. Afterwards, we will go to mosques, temples, and markets to see where the nations worship and do their daily life. Lastly, we immerse by joining the Trek-X staff on the ground and engage people based on the relationships they’ve established. This can look like prayer walks, home visits, sharing our testimony, or just developing relationships in hopes of sharing the gospel.
