Lord | Day 28

December 27, 2025

During the season of Advent, we pause to remember what Christmas truly celebrates. Yes, we picture Jesus as a tiny baby—weak, dependent on His mother, wrapped in cloth and laid in a manger. But this passage reminds us that He is far more than a baby in Bethlehem. He is Lord over everything.

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.Philippians 2:11

The word Lord means someone who has complete authority, power, and sovereign rule. Jesus is the King above all kings. Everything in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. There is no name greater, no leader wiser, and no love deeper. And yet—this King chose to come as a helpless child. Think about that for a moment. The One who holds all power willingly entered the world in weakness. Why? Because of His great love for you. The Lord of the universe stepped into humanity so that He could come close to us.

As a family, it’s good to slow down and remember what it means to call Jesus “Lord.” It means our faith depends entirely on Him. It means we trust Him more than we trust ourselves. It means we follow Him even when the path is difficult. And it means we look to the One who humbled Himself for our peace, our strength, and ultimately, our hope. This season can feel busy and chaotic, but today, let’s rest in this truth: Jesus is Lord of all.

Reflection Questions

  • Where in your life do you need to fully surrender to His lordship today? Your worries? Your fears? Your decisions? Your future? Let’s welcome Him not only as the baby born in Bethlehem, but as the Lord who reigns in every part of our lives.

Prayer Points

  • Thank God for sending Jesus as Lord.
  • Thank God that one day every person will recognize Him as King (Philippians 2:10).
  • Ask God to help you see Him as Lord over all.
