Letter to a Partner Church

One of our partner’s, Hibernia Baptist Church, asked for a short update to let their congregation in on some things we have seen in the last 6 months. We thought it would also be encouraging for you to read and remember all that God has done for us! We praise God for what he has done and as always, believe the best is yet to come.

“God’s faithfulness has been abundantly evident to Mercy Hill Church in the first 6 months since our launch.  Even before Mercy Hill officially launched in September 2012, God brought together an incredible team of people willing to put comfort aside for the sake of the gospel.  One by one God has provided jobs and homes for those who relocated to Greensboro from the Summit church.  God has surrounded us with supportive and generous churches who stand behind our vision. Now at our weekend services we steadily see over 200 adults in worship.  The 3 community groups we started with have now multiplied to 8 with 140 people attending each week!   These are not just numbers, these are people God has entrusted to us to lead to in the Gospel.  By His grace, we have celebrated 21 baptisms of those who are not ashamed to say Jesus is first in their lives!  And during our Generous December we set a goal to raise $10,000 to give away to support God’s mission in places like Baltimore and India. Our church well exceeded this goal and gave $25,000!  As God has been generous to us, we want Mercy Hill to be marked by generosity.

God’s goodness towards us so far gives us hope and excitement for what’s ahead.  This summer we anticipate relocating our weekend gatherings to an improved facility that is strategically located to reach out to our city and will especially serve our children’s ministry.   We will be hosting church mission teams coming alongside us to serve Greensboro.  And moving out beyond our own city, we are planning trips to Baltimore and India to support our partner church plants.  We are also actively exploring partnership with the International Missions Board in order to reach an unreached people group in Central/South America.  Thank you for your continued prayer and support!”
