Kids Week 2019 was a HUGE Success!!
It’s amazing to see what God has done as we’ve seen his hand move in the lives of kids all over the Triad! 790 kids came to our four locations to join in a week full of superhero fun! That’s up from 668 kids that attended last year as God continues to faithfully grow our influence of sharing the gospel with kids in the Triad. The kids met new superheroes, made their very own superhero outfits, and had a blast as they played games at their superhero training. In all the fun and excitement, kids learned that it is Jesus who is our Ultimate Hero and that the most exciting life lived is the life lived for him. They learned the truth about what Jesus has done for us through the life of Paul and memorized Titus 2:11, “For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation for all people.”
There are so many stories that have come out of the week, and we can’t wait to see how God grows kids by the truths they learned at Kids Week. One of the kids who attended, Eli, was impacted by a craft that he worked on. After making a bracelet that helps kids share the gospel with other kids, a team member overheard Eli saying, “This is so cool! Now I can remember to tell this story all the time!” It is amazing to see kids grow in their passion for sharing the gospel by being saturated in it for a whole week!
A New Approach
This year we took a new approach as we continued Kids Week through the weekend and we were so excited to see 78 First Time Guest Kids show up to our campuses to be a part of the last day of Kids Week! As kids watched what happened to their superheroes, parents were able to enjoy our worship and hear a sermon that spoke directly to what godly parenting looks like.
Something that God blesses like this is not without the sacrifice of God’s people. The whole church prayed that God would do something amazing. So many donated supplies in order to allow us to financially make Kids Week possible. 538 people gave of their time to invest into kids hearing the gospel. Many of these gave up vacation days to be a part and others moved around their schedules around to be a part of the week.
What Could God Be Doing?
In all of this what stands out is what God could do through it all. Through all of the planning and sacrifice of time and money, God did do something amazing. However, for so many kids this was just the start of what could be. What could God do in the lives of 790 kids hearing the gospel? What could God do in the lives of so many families that have come to Mercy Hill for the first time? Only time will tell, but God could be raising missionaries out of the seeds planted in kids’ hearts at Kids Week. In light of that, let’s collectively pray that God would move the families that joined us for Kids Week to get involved and to grow deeper in the gospel and that some of them would believe it for the first time.
