In Romans chapter ten Paul asks a series of three poignant questions: “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (10:14 NIV) Paul makes it clear that unbelievers come to Christ through the hearing of God’s Word from people like you and me. But often we are left anxiously wondering what this looks like on the most practical level. What should I say? What if they ask a question I can’t answer? Where do I start?
All of these questions center on the discipline of evangelism – the practice of sharing our faith in Christ Jesus with neighbors, co-workers, friends, family, and even strangers. As a church plant, we recognize the importance of evangelism and thus have a desire to help our launch team find answers to the above questions. That is why this Sunday night, April 15th we will be holding an evangelism training at The Summit Church’s north Raleigh Campus.
We are so blessed as a church to have pastors and leaders who have been gifted in the area of evangelism and who seek to train other believers in this discipline. Daniel Simmons, the campus pastor for The Summit’s north Raleigh campus will join us and share from his wealth of knowledge about the practical components of sharing our faith with others. Before becoming a pastor at The Summit, Daniel was on staff with Campus Outreach – a college ministry that places a tremendous amount of emphasis on evangelism and evangelism training.
This is an open invitation to anyone who might still be interested in finding out more about Mercy Hill Church. The training will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday night (April 15th) and will go until 7:30 p.m. We hope that you will take the time to join us – learn more about how to share Christ with unbelievers – and find out how you can be part of what God is doing in Greensboro through Mercy Hill Church.
Oh and did we mention there will be food…
