God’s Temple | Day 6
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” – 1 Corinthians 3:16
From the beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. In Eden, He walked with Adam and Eve. In the tabernacle and temple, His presence rested among Israel. Now, through the finished work of Christ, that dwelling is no longer confined to a building—it is within His people. This is both a staggering privilege and a sobering reality.
God’s nearness is not casual—it is covenantal. He is committed to his people, not because of their worthiness, but because of His steadfast love and faithfulness. Through Jesus’s atoning death and victorious resurrection, sinners are reconciled and made into a holy habitation for God. The veil has been torn. Jesus was forsaken so that we might be filled.
Our lives ought to emanate holy worship for God. Not merely in song, but in the offering of our whole lives. We pursue holiness not to invite God in, but because He is already present. We gather as the church with reverence and joy, knowing that God is truly among us. May that reality lead us to awe, obedience, and white-hot worship.
