We are excited to be starting a new sermon series on the book of Galatians this Sunday called “No Other Gospel.” Although the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation is about the good news of the gospel, the book of Galatians hones in on the gospel as compared to false gospels we so quickly believe, which Paul calls “no gospel at all.” Much like the Galatians, our Southern culture is filled with religion that at times misses the radical grace that is found in the gospel.
In Galatians Paul will lovingly, yet without pulling any punches confront our understanding of the gospel. Just to give you a preview: Paul in chapter 1 warns that if anyone (even an angel!) preaches a false gospel let them be cursed! In chapter 2 Paul opposes Peter to his face regarding how his life reflects the radical grace of the gospel. In chapter 3 he begins the chapter with this sentence, “You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you?” Like I said, Paul doesn’t pull any punches with his controversial style.
You don’t want to miss this series, come join us this Sunday!
