What is City Project?

City Project is a six-week discipleship opportunity for college students where students are trained to grow deeper as a disciple of Christ and learn to make disciples who make disciples!

This is a chance to spend the summer being immersed in the local church and cities around the globe. Each person will travel to New York City to engage Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists with the gospel. Students will spend several weeks in Greensboro receiving practical theological and ministry training. During this time, students will learn to effectively share the gospel and give their lives away to the city of Greensboro, NC. City Project students will also have the option to travel abroad through our short-term international missions opportunity, Trek. Here, students will have the chance to serve in an international context alongside Mercy Hill partners. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the mission of God, develop a heart and mind for God, and better understand what it means to leverage one’s entire life for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“City Project was a life-changing experience for me. I left the project with a greater understanding of the faith and a greater urgency for the spread of the gospel. I was also more equipped to share my faith and encouraged in deep Christian community. College students, do City Project!”

“City Project taught me how to live missionally in a variety of contexts in order that the gospel of Jesus Christ may be preached unto the nations. We were not called into a life of lukewarm faith, a faith that you keep private, or a faith that is just brought into the church. We are called into a life of freedom, joy, and community so we can go out into all the nations making disciples until every nation, tongue, people, and tribe has heard the name of Jesus. City Project was the springboard into helping me understand that, and it showed me how to practically share the gospel with every person around me who is loved by God and needs to hear the good news!  I strongly encourage people to do City Project because it will change your life!”

“City Project was easily the best 6 weeks of my life. Being able to travel to New York and share the gospel in a neighborhood where people may live their whole life and never the gospel was heartbreaking but also showed me the importance of mission work and church planting. City Project equipped me with different ways to share the gospel and gave me a deeper understanding of our magnificent God. I would recommend City Project to every college student because it prepares you for a life of sharing the gospel  whether with a church plant, on an international mission, or in any career you begin after college.”
